Thank you for looking at my website. Here is a brief summary about me and what I do.

I became a self employed artist, painter in 2004. I have been painting and drawing all my life. After school I studied Fine Art and graduated from Coventry University in 1996, I went back and gained a Masters in 2000.

I paint many subjects from direct observation such as Self Portrait and Still Life. These pieces are my equivalent to a musician playing the scales I think. They involve a lot of looking and restraint as well as confidence in brushwork. These pieces are exercises in the study of shape, form and tone.

I am also working on a series of English landscapes in which I am layering canvas and letting the paint behave in an organic manner. I am sharing my experiences of being in the natural world, feeling the sun, listening to the wind, seeing shifting light and colours. These paintings are easy to relate to and have a modern take on Romantic English landscape painting.

Owning good real Art is one of life’s underestimated pleasures. The best way to view paintings is to see them in the flesh. I am currently in negotiation with a couple of Galleries that are unique and comfortable places to visit - watch this space! You will also find me at 'Bohemia' an Arts n Farmers Market in Palace Street Canterbury - see local press for details or at Bayswater Road, London's largest open air art fair on Sundays.

Please note I only sell prints of my paintings via this website (see prints section for details). To purchase photography by me please go to 'Links' and click on my Red Bubble shop.
Thank you again for your time and interest and please visit again soon.
Best wishes,
Sarah
